I never got back to finish this since I ended up buying a real Macintosh, however I know there are some gotcha's with the video cards and such when you apply the 10.5.3 update (specifically Nvidia as that is what my laptop had). Grub works great, that is how I had it setup. I had a triple boot at one point with Vista, Hackintosh OS X, and Ubuntu linux. I never got dual cores working on the Dell (apparently this is a well known problem with the Dell BIOS and OS X's kernel) so kudos to vitaminrad for doing that. I tried some kernel that was supposed to do it, but it crashed on boot, so I just went back to the vanilla kernel. I'll recommend that after you install the initial 10.5.2 and have that working, use an external drive and a free program called Super Duper! and back it up. You'll mess up your install many times (at least I did) where you don't have keyboard or mouse support. If you know what you did wrong you can boot with the install CD and try to undo those files, but always having that clean 10.5.2 to copy kext's from is critical. I believe that was the next step.
